IĪm pretty certain they were introduced with 1803 but its possible that an update or patch pushed via Windows update is also the culprit (maybe KB4464330 since that was applied right before the BSODs started?). I NEVER got BSODs before in my 11 months of running 1709. The result is losing my place in what I was working on and sometimes losing actual work. Specifically "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" So now for the new-ish issue I have been struggling with.which I already submitted reports via Feedback Hub two months ago but have yet to hear back or see a resolution.īSODs when powering on. Hardware or something not playing nice (other than my SB2 and Windows 10 which are both Microsoft products).
I made no software or settings changes other than allowing Windows Updates to install. These are all issues that others have also experienced. Slow downs when there was plenty of available CPU and Memory according to task manager.
It has been down hill since then (August).Īround the time the power button issue was fixed via an update, my touchpad/cursor started freezing up (especially when two finger scrolling), my AC adapter stopped working/SB2 would not charge, and overall performance degraded with freeze ups and Long story short, while I was not a very happy SB2 owner, my machine running 1709 was somewhat stable until about August (main issue was that I had to eject the screen every time I wanted to power on, and then re-attach after pressing the powerīutton but I lived with it for about 8 months because everything else seemed to work). Going on four months and this has yet to be resolved! I was seeing similar issue on a Lenovo X1 Yoga so its possible it was introduced through Windows 10 code updates.regardless, Microsoft needs to investigate and fix!

I can't say with certainty whether this isĪ firmware issue, GPU driver issue, Windows 10 issue, or what. It results in lost work, embarassment at meetings/presentations when it takes This issue seems to come up once a week or so so its not every time but that does not make it OK. I hibernate a few times a day some times my SB2 automatically sleeps/hibernates. 1709 was somewhat stable and it went down hill from there. Microsoft refuses to acknowledge this issue and has yet to issue a fix for it. I have contacted Microsoft support to offer the mini dump and dump files. I have filed bug reports in Feedback Hub. After 1803 failed to upgrade I paused updatesįrom April 2018 to October 2018. My device had ZERO issues booting, ZERO BSODs, etc, on 17. It was introduced with 1803 or an update that accompanied. This issue first showed itself ONE YEAR ago.
